Residential Services
New Home Construction
Building a custom home from the ground up is a complex process that demands a contractor who can coordinate every phase — from site work and foundation through framing, systems, finishes, and final inspection. Coons Construction manages the entire process with a single point of accountability: us. We work with your architect and design team, or can recommend trusted partners, to deliver the home you’ve been planning — on time and on budget.
Home Additions
Need more space? A well-planned addition can transform how your home functions without the cost and disruption of moving. Coons Construction designs and builds additions that integrate seamlessly with your existing structure — whether you’re adding a primary suite, expanding a kitchen, adding a garage, or building out an accessory dwelling unit. We handle permitting through the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department so you don’t have to.
Whole-House Renovations
Sometimes a home has good bones but needs a complete refresh. Whole-house renovations require a contractor who can manage multiple trades simultaneously, keep the project moving through the complexity, and deliver a finished product that feels like a new build. From structural changes and systems upgrades to new finishes throughout — Coons Construction transforms existing homes into spaces that work for how you live today.
How We Work
1. Discovery & Consultation
We start with a conversation. We want to understand your vision, your timeline, your budget, and what success looks like for you. No pressure, no pitch — just a real discussion about your project.
2. Planning & Permitting
Once we’re aligned on scope, we develop the project plan and manage the permitting process through the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. We know El Paso County’s requirements inside and out.
3. Construction
We manage every phase of construction with direct oversight from our experienced team. You’ll have regular updates and a clear line of communication throughout the project.
4. Final Walkthrough & Delivery
We don’t consider a project complete until you do. Our final walkthrough ensures every detail meets the standard we set at the start of the project.
Consider SCIP for Your Residential Build
If you’re building new or planning a major addition, ask us about SCIP — Structural Cement Insulated Panel construction. SCIP delivers superior energy efficiency, structural strength, and faster build timelines compared to conventional framing. It’s one of the smartest decisions you can make at the planning stage.
